Jae-beom’s Comeback Still Undecided
JYP Entertainment is denying rumors that former 2PM leader Park Jae-beom has filmed a music video as a step toward becoming a solo artist.
Some Internet news providers reported that Park secretly made a music video in the United States and has been offered a part in a movie.
``The rumors are groundless,'' a representative of the agency said. ``No executives from JYP have heard anything involving Jae-beom's casting in a movie. Nor did he film a music video.''
He said nothing has been decided in regards to a possible comeback of Park, who quit the group and flew to the United States in September after critical comments he made about Korea on social networking site MySpace between 2005 and 2007 were made public.
The news of his possible return is drawing keen attention from fans and netizens. Since his departure, Park Jin-Young, head of the agency, has asked his fans to respect the singer's decisions.
``Nothing has been decided about Jae-beom's comeback. As Park Jin-young has said, our basic stance is that he will come back as a member of 2PM,'' the representative said. ``How and when will be decided according to Jae-beom's decision.''
He also denied reports that JYP Entertainment will make ``an important announcement'' about the artist on Jan. 24.
재범 컴백 `아직 결정 안돼'
JYP 엔터테인먼트는 2PM 리더 박재범이 솔로로 전향하기 위한 조치로 뮤직비디오를 촬영했다는 소문을 부인했다.
일부 인터넷 매체들은 재범이 미국에서 비밀리에 이 비디오를 제작했으며 영화 출연 제의를 받았다고 보도했다.
JYP의 한 관계자는 ``이 루머는 근거없는 것''이라면서 ``JYP의 어느 누구도 재범의 영화 캐스팅과 관련해 제의받은 바 없으며 뮤직비디오도 제작하지 않았다''고 잘라 말했다.
이 관계자는 과거 한국을 비하한 발언으로 2PM을 떠나 지난해 9월 미국으로 출국했던 재범의 컴백에 대해 아무 것도 결정된 게 없다고 덧붙였다.
재범의 컴백에 대해 팬 및 네티즌들은 신경을 곤두세우고 있다. JYP의 박진영 대표는 재범이 떠난 후 팬들에게 그의 결정을 존중해주자고 요청한 바 있다.
이 관계자는 ``재범에 대해 결정된 것은 없다. 박진영 대표가 얘기한 것처럼 우리의 기본적인 입장은 재범이 2PM의 멤버로 돌아올 것이라는 점''이라고 말했다.
이 관계자는 또한 JYP가 이달 24일 `중대한 발표'를 할 것이라는 일부 보도도 부인했다.
