Two starving pet dogs fed on their owner's body for two weeks after he committed suicide.

According to the Daily Mail, two pugs named Harry and Sally were left trapped and fed on their owner's body for two weeks after their owner killed himself and were found at a house in Omaha, Nebraska, last week by police.

Police suspect the unnamed man died of a self-inflicted gunshot.

Humane Society spokesman Mark Langan said he can't verify the dogs had fed on the body, but he said it would be normal behavior for dogs left without food or water for two weeks. He also added that the two dogs would not suffer from long-term psychological effects because they don't have memories like humans.

"What Harry and Sally went through is awful. They are dogs so they don't think of it the same way as humans do," said Pam Wiese, a fellow Nebraska Humane Society spokeswoman.

They are now looking for a new home for the dogs.

영국 데일리메일에 따르면, 해리와 샐리란 이름의 퍼그 두마리가 주인이 자살한뒤 시신을 먹으며 2주동안 살아 왔으며 미국 네브라스카주 오마하에 집에서 경찰에 의해서 발견 되었다고 전했다.

경찰에 의하면 강아지 주인은 최소 2주 전에 총으로 자살을 한 것으로 보인다고 했다.

동물구호단의 마크 랜건은 강아지가 주인을 먹은것에 대해선 증명할순 없지만, 이는 2주 동안 먹을게 없이 버려진 개들의 자연스런 행동이라고 두둔했다. 또한 이 강아지 두마리는 사람과 같이 기억력이 좋지 않아 정신적인 고통은 없을것이라고 더했다.

NHS의 대변인 팸 위즈는 "해리와 샐리는 무시무시한 경험을 한것이며 개들이라는 점을 감안할때 우리 인간처럼 느끼지는 못했을것"이라고 말했다.

현재 두마리의 강아지는 새 보금자리를 기다리고 있다.
