Communications Korea, a public relations consulting group, said it has recruited crisis management specialist Ahn Cheol-hyun as deputy director of its sister company, the Korean Institute of Crisis Management and Strategy, to reinforce its specialized crisis communication services.

The appointment comes as crisis management is becoming more important for Korean companies and citizens in the wake of various crises such as the spread of Influenza A and the DDoS Cyber attack.

Ahn, former director of the Crisis Management Center of the National Security Council (NSC) at Cheong Wa Dae, is a specialist in public crisis management with twenty years of experience in the field.

"It is very encouraging that more and more private companies and public organizations have been interested in crisis management and sought professional services for systematic crisis management," he said.

Communications Korea CEO Kim Kyong-hae said, "With the recruitment of Dr. Ahn, the firm will be able to develop practical crisis management systems that can provide practical utilities for improving crisis management to customers in public and private organizations."

Ahn received a master's degree from the Graduate School of Public Administration at Yonsei University and a doctorate in communications from Kyunghee University.

He has contributed to the building and operating of various crisis management systems for public organizations. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Incheon.
