Beijing Olympics weightlifting gold medalist Jang Mi-ran of South Korea set a world record as she claimed her fourth straight world championship title Saturday.

The 26-year-old lifted 187 kilograms in the clean and jerk, breaking her own earlier world record by a kilogram, and 136 kilograms in the snatch for a total of 323 kilograms at the 2009 World Weightlifting Championships in Seoul's northern suburban city of Goyang.

Jang earned two gold medals in the clean and jerk and the total combining the snatch and the clean and jerk.

In the earlier snatch competition, Jang settled for a silver medal by lifting 136 kilograms behind a Russian who lifted 138 kilograms.

북경올림픽 금메달리스트 장미란 (26)이 토요일 세계신기록을 수립하면서 4연속 세계선수권 우승의 위업을 달성했다.

장미란은 토요일 고양에서 열린 2009 세계선수권대회에서 자신의 용상기록을 1킬로 늘리면서 187킬로를 들어, 인상에서의 136 킬로와 함께 합계 323 킬로를 들었다.

이에 따라 장미란은 용상과 합계에서 2개의 금메달을 따냈다.

장미란은 앞서 열린 인상에서는 러시아선수의 138 킬로에 못미친 136 킬로로 은메달에 머물렀다.
