Korean-American Hollywood actress Moon Bloodgood will be appointed the goodwill ambassador of the Korean Tourism Organization next Monday, becoming the first Hollywood star to promote Korea.
According to the KTO, Bloodgood will join the tourist agency's North American promotional events to invigorate the sector, which has been affected by the economic slowdown and fears over influenza A.
The actress reportedly turned down Sony's $1-million Internet show because of the KTO project.
Bloodgood was born to a Korean mother and a Dutch-Irish American father.
Having once worked as a professional cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers, she has become famous for her exotic looks and powerful image.
The Hollywood starlet recently gained global stardom by playing the opposite Christian Bale in the box office smash hit ``Terminator: Salvation'' and TV drama ``Burn Notice.'' She is also reported to have an important role in an upcoming Steven Spielberg drama.
