The curtain will go up for the third run of Uncle Cookie's Funny Farm at the Woongjin Think Big Theater in Yeoksam-dong, southern Seoul, from April 26 through June 8.
The English-language children's musical is designed to entertain and educate through goofy characters and wonderful music, the organizers said Tuesday.
Families will be treated to an hour and 10 minutes of learning and laughter as children sing, chant and clap along with a loveable band of farmhands.
The musical offers a fresh approach to English-language learning. While on the one hand it is a light-hearted comedy designed to keep audiences laughing, it also invites children to be actively involved in the show by coming up on stage, singing along with the actors, and calling out responses to the dialogue in English, they said.
In a nutshell, the show is interactive, entertaining, and above all educational.
The musical was born more than a year ago from the collective talent and input of four Canadians living and working in Seoul.
The cast, Bob Gardiner, Lisette St Louis, Boyd Kelly and Christopher Hughes, were all working in the fields of education and entertainment, when they were approached by PMC Productions (creators of Nanta, Tokebi Storm, etc.) to create a show for their spring lineup last year.
The cast were no strangers to working with children, having stared in Korean productions like EBS's ``Go! Go! Giggles!'' ``1,2,3'' for KBS, and ``Wannabe'' for Skylife, and jumped at the chance to do something new for their Korean fans.
The four big kids at heart started working and experimenting together, and eventually created the story and music for Uncle Cookie's Funny Farm.
