Thanks for the report on “Two Koreans abused on Sydney bus” (Korea Times, April 5 2013.)
While this kind of inexcusable racist behavior exists in Australia and other “White” controlled nations, there are clearly defined and enforceable anti-racist, anti-discriminatory, laws that Mr. Kim can use in pursuing a case against such racist behavior.
While it’s important to highlight and report illegal racist behavior in other “Western” nations, it’s also important to report and highlight the daily racist behavior of Koreans toward foreigners, including myself.
I’ve lived in Korea for the past 16 years and, on a daily basis, I’ve experienced similar, if not worse, racist behavior from many Koreans. For instance, I’ve been told that I’m dirty and stink; I’ve been asked to leave Korea because I don’t speak the Korean language, I’ve been attacked by a Korean taxi driver because I was defending my pregnant Korean wife; I’ve been falsely accused of sexual harassment because I said “Hi” to a Korean female; I’ve been the victim of “monkey chants” (see the recent Korea Times article:
https://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/nation/2013/04/197_133278.html
), on several occasions, I’ve been verbally abused by Korean middle school Students for no reason; I’ve been unfairly treated by Korean police officers in reporting crimes against middle school students and so forth. Of course, I forgot to mention that I’m the victim of dirty and contemptable stares on subways, buses, taxis, shopping malls and so forth.
Unlike most Western nations, Korea doesn’t have anti-racist or anti-discriminatory laws which victims of Korean racism can use to sue racist Korean behavior.
Because of the Korean racist idea that its people are a “Pure Blood” it has no problems in foolishly thinking that other races are impure and thus inferior.
Such racist thinking is really no different than “White” Nazi or Japanese pure blood thinking.
While racism is problem in the Western world, there are anti-discriminatory laws that can be used to fight racist behavior.
Unlike Asians nations and Korea, there aren’t any anti-discriminatory or anti-racist laws which can be used to fight racist Korean behavior.
