Helping children, saving world

Listen

Young children need our help. A lot of sad, devastating and scary news that is seen on a daily basis can leave our children emotionally hurt throughout their lives.

The tragic shooting at a Connecticut school on Dec. 14, for example, saw 20 children killed, leaving lifelong emotional scars to people who witnessed the murderous rampage. According to the New York Times, the surviving children are currently suffering from trauma. This means the tragic events will probably affect them when they move on to middle school and high school.

Although it may not be necessarily true, it is possible that children who have witnessed tragic events while they are young may suffer from depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety when they grow up.

Then, how can we help these children?

First, we should give them the care and nurturing they really need. We need to provide them with loving attention in order to console their broken hearts.

Second, we need to listen to them. Since they are the future generation who will one day be responsible for this country, we should learn how to carefully listen to their opinions.

Finally, we need to be open to help children who are suffering. Although many people say that they are aware of children’s problems such as bullying, few are trying their best to help them. We need to take action by establishing rules that can reduce children’s pain.

Children are very important to us and our society. We need to try our best to help those children who need care and attention. Doing so will not only save our children but also enable us to save our world. Wouldn’t that be the best way to make our society more beautiful?
