’Food for thought’

Dear editor,

This is in response to a Sept. 5 op-ed piece, “Neon signs and churches," written by David Thiessen.

Kudos to the author for his excellent article. It carefully provides important food for thought, both to church leaders and those who wonder what in the world the church is all about today.

I will use it in my seminary class with future church leaders of Korea.

The writer is calling our attention to a significant issue which is often neglected in the name of getting more people to know where a church is, instead of investing its time and resources in helping them find the way to live out Christ's message for all people.
