Exciting and Readable

Dear editor,

I read Jon Huer's article, ``Why Is English So Difficult for Koreans to Master," published on April 25. That was pretty cool. I just don't understand some of the subtitles like the one called Egalitarianism and Stratification.

The writer probably couldn't change that though, because then The Korea Times might not sell its newspaper because if he explained what it was all about in the headline no one would read the actual article.

I had no idea how much trouble the Korean people go through just to make us feel welcome and communicate. They are always so welcoming, and hardly ever make serious mistakes (except for at Hamburger Heaven in Everland where they have a sign that says something like Hamburger Heaven Happy is Fun).

I really enjoyed that article. I never really realized it, but I guess we Americans are very independent speakers. I speak the same to my mother as I do to my brother and sister for example.

I think Huer is an excellent writer. He always makes his point very clear, and keeps it as interesting as possible. He makes typically boring matters sound exciting and readable. I love his articles!
