Actors at the “
” on Monday night bit their lips, had gaping mouths or smiled awkwardly as they waited for singer Hyolin to end her controversial sexy performance.
The former SISTAR leader and main vocalist, who is now a solo act, caught the audience at KBS Hall off guard with her “butt-naked” tight silver one-piece outfit.
Whenever the star ― acknowledged as one of K-pop's most talented female vocalists ― twirled in the skimpy costume, hundreds of formally dressed guests at the state broadcaster's annual award ceremony and viewers almost froze.
The founder of one-person agency Bridg performed “Spring Watch,” the original soundtrack of 2017 TV drama “Black Night: The Man Who Guards Me” on KBS2, followed by 2018 releases “See Sea” and “Dally.” Descending to the stage on a giant white circle prop, the star owned the venue in Yeouido, Seoul, for over six minutes.

The broadcaster deliberately showed dumbfounded actors watching Hyolin on stage. They looked nervous, tense and uncomfortable, with no hint of enjoying the moment.
Anonymous criticisms abounded online targeting the explicit nature of the star's revealing costume. They included: “This is not your concert,” “It would have fit a music award, not a drama award,” “Actors' faces watching the gig said it all,” and “The costume bombed the rest of her good performance.”
Contrary to Hyolin, Hwasa from girl band Mamamoo received positive feedback after performing at the K-pop live TV music show on MBC the same day. Wearing torn blue jeans and a sleeveless white top, the Rainbow Bridge World star was praised for her performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “We will Rock You” by British rock band Queen.
