Looking for the ideal spouse?
The Duo Human Life Research Centre may be able to help.
According its survey of 1,000 people (502 male and 498 female), Wednesday, the factors considered in determining the ideal partner include height, annual earnings, wealth, age difference, academic achievement and occupation.
The survey showed that the ideal husband is 177.5 centimeters tall, has annual earnings of 49.9 million won ($41,311) or more, wealth of at least 265.5 million won, is three to four years older than the woman, holds a college degree and works as a government official.
Other factors the women viewed as important included personality, appearance and world view.
According to the survey, the ideal wife is 164.7 centimeters tall, has annual earnings of 42.1 million won, wealth of at least 205 million won, is three to four years younger than the man, has graduated from college and works for the government.
Male respondents said they also valued a woman's personality.
As to whether they ever wanted to marry, men (37.9 percent) responded more positively than women (28.1 percent).
The research also showed that people with high incomes and high academic achievement had a more positive attitude to marriage.
