“Inside the dark salon is filled with rapturous noises from everywhere including booths, rooms, and an open stage.

“Entrance to the night-out venue is guaranteed as long as a reservation is made for this members-only adult playground.

“Except for several male loners, most visitors are couples, including those with wedding rings.

“The couples look excited as they are about to part and meet total strangers, with whom they will agree to have sex publicly or privately.

“Several women are dancing as they begin to strip as several drunk people watched.

“Eventually, the onlookers’ libidos cannot be kept in check and couples begin to have sex without caring and without feeling guilty.”

This is an imaginative scene at an adult sex club in Seoul called “Voyeurism Club” based on what the operators revealed in a criminal court on Dec. 4.

Seoul Central District Court punished the operators of the club that fed the sexual appetites for perverts, allowing visitors to have sex in an open space or watch others doing so.

The court sentenced the club’s chief operator, surnamed Won, 43, to 18 months’ jail, suspended for two years, and 15 million won ($12,000) fine for infringing the laws of punishing acts related to the sex.

Targeting those with “abnormally obscene desires,” Won managed the bar-like club in Gwanak-gu that he rented twice a month from May 2014 until last July.

The court said he paid two housewives to dance nude in front of visitors and provide sexual service to them.

He also offered 100,000 to 150,000 won admission to members of an online community for couples and single male office workers and asked them to act as prostitutes.

The court also sentenced the club’s pimp, 46, and janitor, 45, to six months’ jail, suspended for a year.

The pair worked with Won in hiring prostitutes from outside.

Two female prostitutes, aged 41 and 37, were fined 1.5 million won each. They received 250,000 to 300,000 won from Won as wages and entered the club freely, enjoying free alcohols.

A female employee of the club, 22, was another regular prostitute, having sex in an open room with a bed. The room was next to the club restroom.

“Most of the club’s couple visitors, including married couples, enjoyed swapping or watched others having sex,” the court said.

Other adult salons of a similar theme can be found online as well, including one in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The club’s website is only accessible to members who can book dates to visit online or check “albums.”

It introduces itself as a club with themes of “voyeurism and nudity” and says visitors “can freely watch and denude” and encourages planning “a special couple event.”

Another club, which purports to be in“luxurious, European-style,” is for married couples only.

The club in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, operates online with its contact ID of Kakao Talk, Korea’s most widely used mobile messenger app, so that the app users can add the ID to their friends list and make inquires privately.
