Korea's swim team manager quits over hidden camera scandal

Korea’s national swimming team manager resigned Wednesday, following scandals that erupted over the past week.

The most recent involves the investigation of a former Olympic swimmer who allegedly installed hidden cameras in a female locker room in 2013.

"As a manager that leads the team, I deeply feel responsible for such a shameful incident," Ahn Jong-taek said in an interview with Yonhap News Agency. "I hope the truth will be revealed clearly, as soon as possible, so that other swimmers and coaches will not suffer."

Another incident involved a national swimmer getting drunk on Sunday and allegedly stealing two cars before biting a bystander.

Ahn joined the swimming team in 2008 as coach and has been manager since 2012.

With Ahn’s resignation, the team will postpone training.

It is expected to resume in November, after October’s National Sports Festival in South Chungcheong Province.
