The victim of Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Kang Jung-ho’s alleged sexual assault has been identified as a white female, 23, according to a Chicago police report.

The woman said she passed out after drinking an alcoholic beverage Kang gave her and was sexually assaulted on June 17.

The two became acquainted through a smartphone dating app, the report said.

Although no other information was available because the report was heavily censored, the woman is known to have refused to cooperate in the investigation’s initial stage.

The probe is continuing and no charges have been filed. Kang’s status with the Pirates is unchanged.

“Witnesses are still being interviewed and witnesses are still being sought for interview,” Chicago police told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, which reported the incident.

Kang’s agent, Alan Nero, has declined to comment.

The report contradicts initial speculation in Korea that the victim would be Korean.

Meanwhile, Kang started as the fifth hitter and third baseman for his team against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday. The Pirates lost 7 to 4.
