Comedian Yoo Sang-moo was released from Gangnam Police Station on Wednesday, after being questioned for nine hours for allegedly trying to rape a woman.

“I am truly sorry for the trouble that I have caused,” said Yoo. “I told everything that happened during the incident and answered questions as best as I could.”

The comedian reportedly said he tried to have sex with the woman but did not use force.

On May 18, Yoo was booked without detention for allegedly trying to rape the woman in her 20s at a motel in Seoul’s Gangnam District.

He told police she was his girlfriend, but that he did not have sex with her because she refused.

But the woman told police she and Yoo were not dating and that the comedian tried to rape her.

Police will decide whether to summon Yoo again after they investigate further.
