Grid girl killed in car crash

Popular grid girl Joo Da-ha was killed in a car accident, in which five other people were severely injured, police said Sunday. She was 31.

The accident happened at an intersection in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, at 8.40 a.m., when Joo was on her way to the 2016 Asian Festival of Speed.

Police said the car carrying the model collided head-on with another car. Joo was taken to a hospital, but was dead on arrival. Police are investigating the exact cause of the accident.

Joo was considered one of the up-and-coming grid girls, winning several awards.
