The French-Korean Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) held its annual “Economic Forecasts” meeting at the Millennium Seoul Hilton on March 3.
According to the organization, the discussion was designed to provide “economic predictions based on the past and ongoing trends in the market.”
FKCCI President David-Pierre Jalicon and Saemangeum Development & Investment Agency Administrator Jeon Byeong-kuk gave a welcoming speech.
The panel then discussed the 2016 Korean economy, offering global insights.
The panel comprised French Embassy economic counselor Pascale Buch; Professor at Seoul National University’s Graduate School of International Studies Moon Woo-sik; and economist for Korea at Societe Generale Oh Suk-tae.
“With the Korean government expected to introduce various reforms this year, this luncheon was be an excellent occasion to get an overall understanding of Korea’s economic prospects,” the organization said in a statement
The meeting covered various topics including macroeconomic policy by analyzing key economic indicators and indices of the economic situation in China, the United States and the European Union.
The FKCCI is a non-profit, nongovernmental organization created in 1986. It has more than 350 members comprising of mostly French companies as well as Koreans who have business relationships with France. The chamber aims to promote bilateral exchanges, investment and trade relations through various events.
