Listen

Lezhin Comics, a platform for domestic webtoons, has started offering English services on its site, with its eye on the U.S. market, its operator, Lezhin Entertainment, said Tuesday.

There are 12 cartoons by domestic cartoonists that can be viewed in English. They range from fantasy and mystery to comedy and romance, according to the company.

Viewers will have to pay to view most cartoons. Payments are made by credit card.

Lezhin Entertainment said it will set up a U.S. entity by next month. It also plans to offer up to 40 serial publications by the first half of the year.

It launched its Japanese service last July.
