High schooler arrested over alleged rape of elementary school student

A high-school student who allegedly raped an elementary school student was arrested Sunday.

The 17-year-old student who was identified only as Kim is facing allegations that he raped a 10-year-old girl at a public washroom in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, around 2 p.m., Saturday. Kim met her through an online chat room via smartphone.

Kim blackmailed the girl, identified only as “A,” saying he would upload pictures of her naked body if she refused to meet him. The police found several such photos of the girl in Kim’s phone.

Police said Kim was caught at the restroom after a report came in alerting the police of weird sounds coming from the bathroom. The police are questioning him.
