Korean-American singer Joon Park, leader of idol group g.o.d, married an airline stewardess on Friday.
"I have always wished that my future wife be as candid as I am," Park said at a press conference. "Aside from her physical beauty, I fell in love with her honesty and frankness. I decided to marry her because she never walked on eggshells, even in front of my family."
Park, 45, whose Korean name is Park Joon-hyung, said he was keen to become a father.
"Many people were concerned about my stamina because of my age," Park said. "My stamina is as great as that of men in their 20s. I want to have a baby six months to a year after the marriage."
Park has dated the flight attendant, 32, for more than a year after group member Danny Ahn set up a blind date between them.
Park said he proposed to her on a Myeongdong street.
"We tried to date on the street last Christmas," he said. "But we couldn't because so many people recognized me. She missed the day so much, so I later asked her ‘would you marry me?' on the street. She then cried and said she would."
Park debuted in 1999 as leader of the first-generation idol group. He has since gained popularity for his honesty and innocence on TV shows.
After completing the group's seventh album in 2005, he moved to the United States and appeared in Hollywood movies including "Speed Racer" and "Dragonball Evolution".
He also hinted at the group's comeback this fall. "Nothing changes after the marriage. g.o.d will come back with a new album this fall."
