Psy 'breaks' YouTube with viral 'Gangnam Style'

K-pop star Psy's 2012 hit "Gangnam Style" has scored so many hits online that YouTube is having trouble counting the number of views, according to the site's Google+ page.

The smash-hit music video was the first to top one billion views, and has now topped two billion, and apparently requiring the website to be upgraded.

"We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer (=2,147,483,647 views), but that was before we met Psy," the company said on its public page. “The song has been viewed so many times we have to upgrade."

One viewer commented, "Psy, stop breaking my YouTube.” Another said, “The numbers were so high they couldn't put a comma in it."

The site said, "Hover over the counter in Psy’s video to see a little math magic and stay tuned for bigger and bigger numbers on YouTube.”
