The original score of Mozart's famed Piano Sonata No.11 -- also known as the "Turkish March" – have been found in a Hungarian library.
Balazs Mikusi of the National Szechenyi Library found the manuscript in a dark corner of the building, and, working with an expert, determined that it was an original.
The Sonata No.11, written in around 1783, is the one of the composer's most famous works. Previously, the original manuscript was thought to have been lost. Only one page had been preserved in Salzburg, where Mozart was born.
Mikusi, 42, had been tasked to "look into every dark corner" of the library to organize uncategorised manuscripts gathering dust, AFP reported.
"I wasn't looking for Mozart, but it wasn't accidental either that I found it," he said.
On Friday, the library opened the score to the public. Hungarian pianist and conductor Zoltan Kocsis played the song.
