Park will discuss a variety of issues including security on the Korean Peninsula with Komorowski who took office on Aug. 2010.

"The two leaders will have a summit and a state dinner on Oct. 22. They will discuss such matters as investment, defense, healthcare, energy, IT and electronic government," Park's spokeswoman Kim Haing said.

"They will also exchange opinions on the regional situation on the Korean Peninsula and in Europe."

Park will try to win the support of Komorowski with regard to her diplomatic policies toward North Korea and other neighboring countries, according to Kim.

"Komorowski will be the first European state guest of the Park administration … Through the summit, the two countries will be able to beef up cooperation globally."

A Cheong Wa Dae official said that the Polish President's visit will mark a starting point for Park to launch her so-called "sales diplomacy" in Europe. Park will visit the U.K. and other European states next month.

Park has said that it is one of her top priorities to help Korean business, calling such an approach "sales diplomacy."
