A TV personality fled to the United States after being indicted for smoking marijuana.

According to the Seongnam branch of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Sunday, the indictee, Bianca Mobley, left Korea on April 8 after twice missing court hearings, citing health issues.

On June 5, a local court issued an arrest warrant, after she failed to turn up for the third hearing. There are currently no guarantees that she will voluntary attend the next hearing.

Prosecutors slapped an overseas travel ban on her during the early stages of the investigation.

During the indictment process, however, prosecutors failed to renew her travel ban which had been temporarily lifted. She took the chance and left the country, according to prosecutors.

The 24-year-old celebrity was indicted without physical detention on March 28 for smoking marijuana three times and selling it to others.

The prosecution is currently planning to request the cooperation of Interpol and American courts to extradite her to Korea, according to a local prosecutor. The official doubts if this will be successful, because the charges against her are not very severe.

The prosecution said it will ask Mobley's family members to talk her into returning to Korea voluntarily for the trial.

Her indictment came with a string of drug cases involving other famous figures including singer Choi Daniel.

Mobley is an American citizen, born to an American father and Korean mother, she became popular after featuring in a talk show aired on KBS comprising of guests from different cultural backgrounds, "Misuda."
