Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi will travel to North Korea early next month, with Pyongyang's nuclear program on the agenda, the AFP quoted a Chinese government spokesman in Beijing saying Thursday.
"He will exchange ideas on the development of traditional friendship and international issues of common interest. The nuclear issue should be included," foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang said, giving no further comment on the visit.
The announcement of Yang's trip came shortly after US nuclear envoy Christopher Hill arrived in Pyongyang to push forward an agreement brokered through six-nation talks in February to scrap the North's nuclear program.
