A six-year-old girl heading back home suffered a fate that can only be imagined in movies: She was crushed to death by a man who decided to take his own life and jumped off an apartment building on the 11th floor.
The incident occurred in Yongdo in Busan when the 38-year-old Jang jumped off the building at 7:05 p.m. on May 22, landing squarely on the kindergartener.
According to local police, Jang died on the spot and the child incurred a serious head injury. She was transported to a hospital and received emergency treatment but died 40 minutes later.
Witnesses said the girl was apparently going somewhere with her parents but stepped out of the apartment entrance and met her fate.
