SIWA to host Working Women's Network

By John Redmond

The Seoul International Women's Association (SIWA) will host a Working Women's Network meeting featuring a guest speaker in Itaewon on Feb. 27.

Under the theme, "The Secret to Answering the Most Hated Interview Question," guest speaker Carl Kwan will give a presentation at the Leman L Restaurant.

Kwan has a passion for helping professionals and businesses succeed.

He combines this with his presentations, video production, storytelling, marketing, communication skills and personal experience in Eastern/Western culture to provide unparalleled value to client projects.

Topics will include "What the Goal of Every Interviewer Is," "How to Prepare so You Will Always Make a Good Impression," and "The Secret Revealed."

SIWA is Seoul's premier international women's organization, consisting of women from over 40 countries, including about 25 percent of its members from Korea. For more than 50 years, SIWA has been a place where women from around the world could meet, find friends, learn about each other's culture, and improve the lives of those less fortunate in Korea.

Six times a year, members receive a copy of Discovery Magazine, which contains informative articles about Seoul, as well as travel, reading and information on cultural events.

SIWA offers an extensive number of tours to various cultural, artistic and recreational experiences.

One of those most important things that SIWA does is to contribute to Korean society. The organization's biggest fundraiser, the Diplomatic and Cultural Bazaar, contributed over 2 billion won to Korean charities over the years.

"Our dedicated welfare committee makes sure that the money raised goes to worthwhile organizations and the money donated is well spent," states the website.

SIWA Working Women's Network is open to all women. Meetings are conducted in English.
