'Call us Park Geun-hye Government'
By Jun Ji-hye
The incoming government wants to be known as, “The Park Geun-hye Government,” the presidential transition team said Wednesday. Spokesman Yoon Chang-jung said, “The name was decided on with the simple purpose of promoting President-elect Park’s political vision and philosophy.” Two other slogans considered were “The People’s Livelihood Government” and “The Happiness Government.” Park’s predecessors named their governments after their core values. The late President Roh Moo-hyun used the term, “Participatory Government,” while the late Kim Dae-jung referred to his administration as “The People’s Government.” The incumbent, President Lee Myung-bak, named his administration “The Lee Myung-bak Government.” Yoon said experts were consulted about the slogan and the subject was discussed many times at meetings. |
