Man subjects son to waterboarding for not writing properly
A man who had been beating up his son regularly on the excuse that he would not listen to him recently then went to the extent of subjecting him to waterboarding has been placed under arrest.
According to the Seoul Central Prosecutor’s Office, the 36-year-old Yoo, who had been divorced from his wife, had left his son under the care of his father who lived in the provinces. The brought the nine-year-old boy up to Seoul to live and the physical abuse began a few months later as the child found it difficult to fit into the new environment. Last May, investigations showed, Yoo slapped the boy around for not being able to read well, leaving him with a bloody nose. The next month, the child was caught taking money from a stranger’s wallet which led Yoon to beat him up again. Not satisfied, he filled a plastic container with water and stuck the boy’s head in it. The occurrences at Yoo’s home came to light when one of the neighbors reported the child abuse to a welfare center and the police came to investigate. |
