By Yun Suh-young

Jin Air, a low-cost carrier of Korean Air, said it began operating flights between Incheon and Okinawa, Monday.

The airline is the first among domestic budget carriers to launch the flight. It held its opening ceremony on Christmas Eve.

It will operate the flights seven days a week with a fleet of 180 seat B737-800s.

The departing flight from Incheon leaves at 10:35 a.m. every day and arrives at Okinawa at 12:45 p.m. The returning flight from Okinawa departs at 1:45 p.m. and arrives in Incheon at 4:05 p.m.

"With the addition of the new flight, we now operate 12 routes in seven countries," said Kim Jae-gun, CEO of Jin Air.

"We are able to provide differentiated services at a reasonable price with the added Okinawa flight."

Jin Air managers and Incheon International Airport officials participated in the ceremony to celebrate the launching of the flight.
