Listen

Workers who regularly complain are the most likely to be fired by their firms, according to a recent survey.

Of 1,159 corporate personnel staff questioned, job portal Saramin said Thursday that as many as 83 percent said their firms have a blacklist of workers they want to get rid of.

Workers who complain often at work were top of that list (53.7 percent), followed by those who are lazy in the workplace (53.1 percent).

Employees with poor skills, performing badly stood at (45.9 percent), followed by workers who are generally passive, defined as those who only complete assigned tasks (41.2 percent) and those who dump work on others (26.3 percent).

According to the study, the most negative affect caused by those on the list is that they disturb the atmosphere in an organization (71.2 percent).

Closely following this was that they discourage their colleagues at work (70.9 percent), followed by a deterioration of relations among workers (43.3 percent) and a weakening of company loyalty (31.2 percent).
