Kenny G files for divorce after 20-year marriage

Smooth jazz saxophonist Kenny G is playing the final note on his marriage after 20 years.

Court records show the musician, Kenny Gorelick, filed for divorce Thursday in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.

The 56-year-old married Balynda Helene Benson-Gorelick in April 1992 and the former couple has a 14-year-old son. He is seeking joint custody but does not want to pay his estranged wife spousal support.

Benson-Gorelick filed for separation in January, but the case has not proceeded.

The divorce was first reported Monday by celebrity website TMZ.

세계적인 색소폰 연주자 케니 지가 결혼 생활 20년 만에 마침표를 찍는다.

미국 연예전문매체 티엠지닷컴(TMZ)은 1993년 '포에버 인 러브'로 그래미상을 받은 색소폰 연주자 케니 지(본명 케네스 고어릭·56)가 로스앤젤레스 법원에 이혼 소송을 제기했다고 13일(현지시간) 보도했다.

소장은 9일 접수됐으며 케니 지는 이혼 사유를 '극복할 수 없는 차이'라고 밝힌 것으로 알려졌다.

케니 지는 1992년 4월 밸린다 엘렌 벤슨 고어릭과 결혼해 14살 된 아들을 두고 있다.

부인 벤슨 고어릭은 앞서 올해 1월 법적 별거를 신청했으며 둘은 현재 별거 중이다.

케니 지는 '공동 양육권'을 희망하지만 부인에게 양육비 지급은 원하지 않는 상태다. (연합뉴스)
