Woman keeps boyfriend’s corpse at home for two years

A 72-year-old woman has kept the body of her dead boyfriend on a chair in her southern Michigan house for about two years because she didn't want to be alone, according to news reports. After Charles Zigler died at her house, his girlfriend Linda Chase kept his remains clean and dressed. She often talked to the body especially while she watched motor racing, as they did together when he was alive. The autopsy results showed that the boyfriend died of natural causes at age 67. He was estimated to die around Christmas in 2010, the New York Daily News reported. Police also revealed that she had cashed Zigler’s social security checks by forging his signature after he passed away. Chase has not been arrested, but she will be punished for financial fraud. "I’m probably going to prison, but I didn't lie about that to police," she said. “It’s not that I’m heartless. I didn't want to be alone. He was the only guy who was ever nice to me,” Chase said. |
