US stresses no hostile intent on N. Korea

WASHINGTON (Yonhap) -- The United States government reaffirmed Friday that it has no hostile intent towards North Korea as it seeks peace and stability on the peninsula.

"As a matter of longstanding policy, the United States is committed to the maintenance of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and has no hostile intent toward the DPRK," a State Department spokesperson said on the customary condition of anonymity.
