Korea 'strongly' condemns Bulgaria suicide attack

South Korea on Friday denounced a suicide bombing in Bulgaria that killed six civilians earlier this week.

"The Korean government strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the bus carrying civilian tourists near Burgas Airport in Bulgaria on July 18," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

"South Korea expresses condolences to the bereaved families of the innocent victims," the statement said, while reaffirming that all kinds of terrorist attacks "constitute crimes which cannot be justified by any means."

A bomb exploded on a bus carrying Israeli tourists in the Black Sea city of Burgas on Wednesday, killing 5 Israelis and the Bulgarian bus driver and wounding 32 other passengers, according to officials. Israeli authorities blamed Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based Islamic militant group and political party, for masterminding the attack. (Yonhap)
