
Heavy rain hits nation: Cars run on an inundated road in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, Friday. Heavy torrential rain hit the country’s central regions after months of draught, causing the closure of roads and inundating thousands of homes and facilities. No major casualties were reported. Suwon recorded more than 300 millimeters of rain and Seoul, over 170 millimeters. The rain front is forecast to move south toward Jeju Island. More rain is expected in the middle of next week.
