LG Electronics Inc., one of Korea's leading consumer appliance manufacturers, said Monday its three-dimensional (3D) TV sets won Germany's prestigious Plus-X Award this year.

The company said its 55LM960V, 55860V and 55LM760S Cinema 3D Smart TV models secured this year's award in the home entertainment and video category.

Plus-X's expert jury gave high marks for the TV models' quality, design, convenience of use, eco-friendly features and the level of overall innovation that went into the models, LG said.

All three models have super-thin bezels that give viewers theater-like 3D images.

The innovation awards are broadcast live across Germany and elsewhere in Europe by a satellite TV station, and exerts considerable influence on consumer purchasing in the region.

The annual Plux-X Awards, launched nine years ago, is considered the world’s biggest technology, sports and lifestyle competition, with winners picked by an independent, industry-neutral panel of experts. (Yonhap)
