Call for new medical fee system: Members of a civic group hold a rally in front of the Korean Medical Association (KMA) building in Yongsan, Seoul, Monday to demand doctors adopt a diagnosis-related group (DRG) medical fee system. The government plans to enforce the new system from July 1 to allow patients to pay for medical services in a bundle, for operations on cataracts, hernias and hemorrhoids, uterine surgery and cesarean sections. However, the KMA held a press conference to reaffirm its opposition to the change, apparently worried about potential income cuts. / Yonhap |
