Former Korea Times Managing Editor Bang Dies

Former Korea Times Managing Editor Bang Tae-yung died Wednesday morning after a long illness. He was 78.

A graduate of Yonsei University, Bang served as the 15th managing editor of the nation's first English day from 1983 to 1987. Later, he became its chief editorial writer.

A funeral ceremony will be held Friday at 7 a.m. at Seoul National University, central Seoul, before he a burial service at the National Cemetery in Imsil, North Jeolla Province. For more information, call (02) 2072-2011
