With the summer holiday season passing its peak, airlines are active in attracting last-minute vacationers and those who have delayed their vacations for the lower-demand fall season.

Cathay Pacific Airways is presenting two packages for budget-conscious but premium-seeking tourists. The promotion is available until the end of September.

The ``Premium Package'' includes a roundtrip business-class ticket to Hong Kong and accommodation at the Four Seasons Hong Kong Hotel. Breakfast for two people, a room upgrade to a deluxe harbor view room, and additional mileage points are offered.

It is priced at 1.18 million won for two nights and 1.65 million won for three nights, excluding tax and fuel surcharge. Those purchasing for three nights can add one night without charge.

The ``Value Package,'' available between Sept. 1 and 29, includes an economy-class flight, accommodation at a hotel, and transportation between the airport and the hotel.

Participating hotels are the Conrad Hong Kong, W Hong Kong, Excelsior Hong Kong, Royal Plaza Hotel, Harbor Plaza Metropolis Hotel and Royal Pacific Tower Wing. Each hotel has special offers, such as room upgrades and complimentary drinks. Except for the W Hong Kong, guests can stay four nights at the price for three nights.

Prices start from 399,000 won for two nights and 489,000 won for three nights, excluding tax and fuel surcharge. For more information, call (02) 311-2800 or travel agencies.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines meanwhile, is offering a roundtrip ticket to European cities for 870,000 won until the end of August. An early bird promotion has also been prepared, with tickets for planes departing in September priced at 720,000 won; those in October, 670,000 won; and those in November and December, 520,000 won.

The special fares are applied to flights to European cities via Amsterdam, and passengers cannot stay in the stopover city. They must be traveling for at least seven days and can do so for up to one month. An additional 100,000 won will be charged to those changing their trip schedule. For more information, call (02) 3483-1133 or visit www.klm.co.kr.

Air France is also presenting special offer for September trips, with tickets to European cities for 750,000 won, and to Paris for 850,000 won. In October, the price will be 700,000 won for European cities except for Paris, for which the price will be 800,000 won. Between November and December, the prices will drop to 550,000 won, except for Paris, reduced to 650,000 won.

The program includes flight tickets, hotel accommodation, breakfast, and a ferry ticket between the Japanese cities. A four-night package is priced at 399,000 won, and for five nights at 499,000 won. Travelers will spend one night in the ferry. For more information, visit www.jejuair.net.
