Silent type is the worst blind date partner: poll
By Lee Ji-eun Snobbish men and women giving “yes or no” answers are the worst types of blind date partners. A survey on “the worst blind date partner” conducted by dating service provider Echu (www.echu.co.kr) showed that 41.5 percent of males questioned replied that “a woman giving short answers” was the worst partner on a blind date. The outcome was the result of a survey of 1,812 singles, including 972 males, aged 20 years or older across the country. “Snobbish women” came second with 13.8 percent while “arrogant women” were third with 12.8 percent. Also, 8.8 percent of male respondents said they wanted to avoid women who don’t pay bills, followed by 6.6 percent who dislike ladies leaving the dating place saying, “I have to go for something new.” To the same question, 29 percent of female respondents said “snobbish men” were the worst type of partner. “Men trying physical contact continuously” were ranked second with 15.8 percent, followed by women who disliked men giving short answers with 12.6 percent, and poor dressers with 9 percent. Both males and females suggested a similar method in rejecting their partners with whom they were reluctant to date further, or a method for “removing explosives.” Of the respondents, 34.5 percent of men and 43.6 percent of women answered that they erase the phone number and avoid any possible connections after dating. “The important thing in blind dates is to find common interest between the two,” said Han Sang-kwon, a team leader of Echu. “So, men should refrain from showing off and women have to try to listen and respond well.” |
