China‘s embassy sends letter of gratitude to Coast Guard

China's embassy sent a thank-you letter to Korea's Coast Guard for helping rescue an injured crew member of a Chinese cargo ship last month, officials said Sunday.

The freighter sent out a call for help around 1:20 a.m. on April 11 after one of its crew members was injured following his fall to the bottom of the ship. The Coast Guard in Korea's western port city of Pyeongtaek sent a patrol boat and provided the crew member with emergency treatment.

China's embassy in Seoul sent a letter of gratitude to the Coast Guard recently, saying it expresses respect for the rescue efforts and that the injured crew member was gradually recovering, officials said. (Yonhap)
