Entertainment agency chief arrested for rape

The CEO of Open World Entertainment was arrested at a property he owns in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, Tuesday for allegedly raping and harassing five trainee entertainers, police said Wednesday.

The entertainment company is as an agent for former K-pop group Shinhwa’s Jun Jin.

The CEO, surnamed Chang, was arrested after a month-long police investigation.

The police began questioning Chang in March when one of the entertainers at his firm reported him to the police, and are currently checking whether there are any more victims.

The five victims reportedly testified that Chang had even ordered male members of K-pop groups to rape them.

Open World Entertainment is one of the largest entertainment agencies in Korea which initiated various hallyu (Korean wave) projects. Jun Jin, K-pop group The boss, actor Ko Joo-won are some of the stars belonging to the agency.
