Sunoo, a leading matchmaking company, has opened Tour.com, a travel website to link small travel agencies with overseas travelers.

The website lists blogs and social networking sites (SNS) of registered travel-related businesses so that tourists can find information about accommodation, car rentals and other related topics in the countries they want to visit.

Those interested in visiting Korea will be able to collect such information from the SNS and blogs.

Koreans seeking to visit other nations can also access relevant details to help them prepare for overseas travel.

“Tour.com will create a network bridging vacationers with travel-related businesses which can’t afford to publicize on their own,” an official from Sunoo said. “The site is to give a wide range of guides to international tourists. We came up with the idea as the travel industry is saturated in Korea and requires another method to provide more organized services,” said the official.

Each SNS is encouraged to be operational in English for efficiency in terms of services. The blogs and SNS are sorted into specific categories depending on the services they offer, and users can easily find the information they need.

Tour.com expects the tourists to Korea to benefit from its service, a collection of various and detailed information that a single travel agency cannot provide.

For instance, a self-employed travel businessman running a home stay program and working as a tour guide says the site is a great help.

Tour.com will also provide space on the website for small-sized businesses from other countries in order to create an international network.
