Women who have divorced once are found to prefer men who have never married to fellow divorcees as their remarriage partners.
The results come from a survey jointly conducted by remarriage arrangement site, Only You, and general matchmaker Biennale for 506 who have divorced, including 253 females, across the country via e-mail and the Internet for six days from Jan. 30.
As remarriage partners, 51.8 percent of male respondents replied that they don’t care whether their partners were single without experience of marriage or divorced, compared to 45.5 percent of female respondents.
However, 35.1 percent of the male respondents prefer female partners who have never married to those who are divorced, compared to 39.1 percent of the female respondents.
Only 13 percent of male respondents prefer female partners who have been divorced, compared to 15.4 percent of female respondents.
“Most of the divorced women are extremely sensitive about psychological sufferings by their former husbands,” said Sohn Dong-gyu, chief of the premium couple management Only You. “To escape from the mental wound, they intend to seek male partners without marriage experience who are similar aged or younger than themselves, which they think leads to substantial gender equality.
Meanwhile, as remarriage partners, 42.8 percent of male respondents said that they choose female partners without experience of marriage as they have “no psychological wounds,” similar to the 42.2 percent of female respondents.
“No children” are the next important factor for divorced men (36.7 percent) and women (34.9 percent) opting for their partners who have never married. “Physical purity” comes third with 12.3 percent for men and 14 percent for women. “Wealth” is the least factor for both men(8.2 percent) and women (8.9 percent).
