Korea had an unseasonably warm day on Saturday, with temperatures in Seoul rising to a record high for November, the state weather agency said.

A warm and humid atmospheric current moving from the southwest pushed up temperatures in most of the Korean peninsula to over 20 degrees Celsius, the Korea Meteorological Administration said.

Daytime high was 25.9 degrees Celsius in Seoul, the highest for November since the weather was forecast in 1907 for the first time.

The other regional daytime high was 24.7 degrees in Chuncheon, 25.8 degrees in Suwon, 25.6 degrees in Hongcheon, 26.4 degrees inGwangyang and 25.8 degrees in Geoje of South Gyeongsang Province.

Given the daytime high in early November averaged 15-19 degrees, it is more than 10 degrees higher than the average.

The early summer temperature, which has continued since last Thursday, has been forecast to return to normal Sunday.
