Frequent smoking and drinking are the main cause of most of the diseases that men suffer, from cancer to diabetes. Yet, a recent research shows that change of lifestyle causes more adult disease to women than smoking and drinking.

Stomach ulcer is known as typical disease for men but it’s quite different in reality.

According to the research conducted by the National Health Insurance Corp., in 2009, as many as 749,000 women suffered from stomach ulcer, about 1.2 times the number of 620,700 men who were troubled with similar disease.

Experts cited more social activities as the cause of the stomach ulcer of women. They claimed that triple jobs of social activities, infant care and housework have forced women into severe mental stress, making them take painkillers more. This would burden the stomach and their digestive functions, they added.

Such stress does not only appear as stomach ulcer but also hair loss. Hair loss is known as men’s typical phenomenon but it’s now expanding to women as well. According to the report, a total of 18,537 males in their 40s suffered from hair loss, smaller than the 18,741 females in similar age group.

The research showed the number of women who suffer from adult disease is an alert-call against women’s health.
