The number of positive comments, posted on the website of the online etiquette campaign headquarters, has surpassed 1 million as of Tuesday.

The Sunfull (positive messages) Movement Campaign Office said Wednesday more and more Internet users have posted encouragement and complimenting messages on its website (www.sunfull.or.kr).

The Ministry of Administration and Security along with the campaign office plan to hold a celebration session at Nunggok Middle School in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, inviting some 1,000 students to participate.

“Etiquette is the basis of healthy communication. The Sunfull movement is a campaign to promote online etiquette and save lives. Exceeding 1 million messages is meaningful to clean up cyberspace which can get overrun with malicious messages and online violence,” said Min Byoung-chul, founder of the Sunfull Movement.

Min started the campaign in May 2007 to counter cyber bullying and growing negative online comments and designated the first Friday of November as “Sunfull Day.” Since then, a large number of elementary and secondary schools along with government agencies and companies have joined in the online etiquette campaign.

The movement office also donates 1 won per posting and the collected money will be awarded to needy students in the form of scholarships.
