Doctors at Konkuk University's general hospital are fighting with each other over a newly-developed heart surgery regime developed by its controversial cardiologist Song Myeong-gun.
The dispute was triggered when Prof. Yu Gyu-hyeong and Prof. Han Sung-woo at the Department of Cardiology filed a report about 27 cases of side effects from Prof. Song's Coronary Ostial Stenosis after Aortic Valvuloplasty (CARVAR) technique to the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) in October 2008.
When the KFDA turned down their report, the two tried to take their case to Cheong Wa Dae. They also released the report to the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery in June last year.
